The Environment

Environmental issues are always considered whether planning for the future or in day to day operations.

Aircraft noise is strictly controlled by international, national and local regulations. At the local level, Biggin Hill Airport has noise limits for individual aircraft, as well as instructions to pilots to cause the least disturbance practicable. Noise complaints can be made to via the Noise Monitoring & Track Keeping System  and are monitored carefully by the Consultative Committee. Noise assessments confirm that current and future noise levels are well within the levels set out in the London Borough of Bromley’s Unitary Development Plan.
